OUR PASTOR

Jason Brown

Pastor Jason Brown Lighthouse Bapist Chruch Cape Girardeau Missouri

Pastor Jason Brown was called to be our pastor on August 28th 2023. He is the 4th pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church since we started our ministry here in 1974. Prior to becoming the pastor here, he pastored Columbus Baptist Church in Columbus, NE. He spent nearly 3 years in that wonderful church plant laboring and praying that God would establish His church in Columbus, NE.

Before his time in Columbus, NE, Pastor Brown spent 13 years being trained for ministry as he and his family faithfully served in their home church of Midwestern Baptist Church in Omaha, NE. He served in many areas of the church, but his favorite was the Bus Ministry. He loves preaching to young people and investing in their lives.

He and his wife Kristina have been married since 2001. They have 3 children: Anthony, Elaina, and Addyson who have all grown up serving along side their parents in the ministry. This family loves people and desires to help and serve wherever they can.

OUR BELIEFS

The Inspiration of the Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the infallible, inerrant, inspired, and preserved Word of God. We believe the authorized King James Version of 1611 to be the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people. II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:19-21; Matthew 5:18; Hebrews 4:12; Acts 1:16; John 10:35; 17:17

The Person of God

We believe there is only one true God, existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-eternal and co-equal from all eternity, each with distinct personalities, but one essence. Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-3; Matthew 28:19; Romans 1:2-4; Ephesians 4:3-6; I Corinthians 8:6; Deuteronomy 4:35; 6:4

The Person of Jesus Christ

We believe in the virgin birth of Christ, His Deity, His sinless life, His vicarious death, along with His bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven; and in His personal, pre-millennial return. Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18; John 1:1; 4:3; Luke 1:35; I Peter 2:22; 3:18; I Thessalonians 4:16

The Person of the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the executive of the Godhead. We believe that He executes the plan of God for our conviction and salvation. Christians are partakers of the Holy Spirit and empowered for service by Him. John 14: 16, 17; 16:18; Ephesians 1:13, 14; I Corinthians 3:16; Romans 8:9; Acts 5:3, 4

The Fall of Man

We believe that man was created in the image of God; and by choice, he fell into sin and death. Hence, every person is sinful and under condemnation to eternal judgment. Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:28; 5:12-19; Isaiah 53:6; Ephesians 2:1-3

The Salvation of Sinners

We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace and that Jesus is the only way of salvation. We believe that salvation is by a persons free will in coming to Christ. We reject Calvinism in any form. Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8-10; I Timothy 2:5, 6; I Peter 1:18-23; John 3:3-6; 10:28, 29

The Freeness of Salvation

We believe that the blessings of salvation are made free by the Gospel, and nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner but his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the Gospel. Acts 16:31; Romans 10:11-13; John 1:12; 3:16; 5:24; 12:46

The Security of the Believer

We believe that those who receive Jesus Christ as Savior are eternally secure. Our security rests on the finished work of Jesus Christ. John 10:27-30; I John 2:1-2; Hebrews 2:10; I Corinthians 6:19; Romans 8:31-34

The Church

We believe that a Scriptural church is a visible assembly of baptized believers, covenanted together under New Testament doctrine for the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission. We believe the two ordinances of the church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and we also believe that non-church members do not participate in the Supper. We believe that Jesus started the church during His earthly ministry. Matthew 16:18; 28:18-20; Acts 16:5; Ephesians 1:22,23; 3:21; I Timothy 3:15.
